The hear diseases are major causes of death in the United States. And most heart diseases are caused by Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. The three major kind of heat ailments that a diabetic patient can contract are Atherosclerosis of coronary arteries, Cardiomyopathy and Autonomic Neuropathy. In Atherosclerosis the walls of the arteries thicken due to high cholesterol. Cardiomyopathy is caused by weakness in the function of heart muscle. In Autonomic Neuropathy, the nervous system is damaged due to high sugar. So it is crucial to know how to manage diabetes.
Before hopping into the discussion on management of this disease, it is important to know what disease is. Well, it is in other words is also known as the problem of ‘high sugar’. This is the condition when the sugar (blood glucose) level in your body shoots up to 126 mg%.
Diabetes shows up with myriad symptoms too. They can be - excess urination, excess thirst, weakness in eyesight, extreme hunger, tetchiness, puzzlement, tiredness and weight loss. The first is pharmacological method. If you see any symptoms of diabetes on you, approach a doctor immediately. Pharmacological control of disease will depend on what kind of diabetes you are suffering from. If it is Type 1, then your pancreas cannot create insulin. Insulin is the hormone that helps in percolation of glucose into your cells. As a result the insulin glucose remains in you blood, from where stems your ailment. So in Type 1 you will need to take Insulin.
In Type 2, the body is making the insulin, but cannot use it. To prevent such a problem doctors generally recommend insulin and a combination of pills. There are a variety of pills available, which you will take as your healthcare advisor recommends. But remember; never administer any potion, without the doctor’s recommendation.
The second is non pharmacological method. It is not enough to take medicines solely. A modification in your lifestyle is crucial to stop complicating your disease further. Reduce or eradicate, if possible consumption of refined sugar like honey, jaggery, jam, sweets etc. Eat a lot of vegetables, fruits, cereals, rice and pasta. Reduce the consumption of fat. Maintain a regular interval of dietary intake. Go for regular exercise, a brisk walk if possible. Physical activity will burn down the sugar level in your body.
Always keep in mind that secret to good control of diabetes lies in a taking a balanced diet, a regular work out and having prescribed medicines. The disease can also be effectively managed through yoga. Certain physical benefits can be obtained from yoga. The benefits include better blood circulation, burning of excess fat in the body etc. These benefits are required to control the ailment. The best way to avoid diabetes is to healthy obesity free lifestyle.
