There are many types of banner stands that are used to hold banners of all shapes and sizes. The 3 common varieties include retractable banner stands, X-display and Standing banner stands. Each of these different shapes have their own advantages depending on the weight of the banner, the strength required to hold it up stiffly and the portability of the stand.
X-display banner stands come with cross shape that hold the banners better because of support across the cross sectional area of the banner. The advantage of using X-display banner stands is that they can be folded more easily and than other stands and carried around. The X-shaped stand comes in different varieties depending on what it is made of and the base. The metal base stands are more stable as most of their weight is concentrated at the bottom ensuring that they don’t fall easily at minimal impact and is not blown away by the wind. The banners for X-display usually have 4 metal reinforced holes that are tightened to the ends of the X-shaped frame. These frames are usually long lasting and can be used alternatively with different banners.
Another type of banner stand is the adjustable banner stand whose height can be adjusted as per the height of the banner. This gives more usability to the stand and can be used with banners of different dimensions. Some stands are L-shaped with wider base for greater stability. The frame of the stand itself is made of either plastic core or aluminum. Either material is light allowing one to easily carry the frame around. Both are equally resilient with high structural strength. The banners stands are usually made in a way as to make it easy to dismantle, fold and carry them around. Both X-display and standing banner stands are used in promotional events, trade fairs and other events to hold attractive banners of various sizes starting from 5 ft to as big as 10 feet. Since the banners are usually fitted with the frames through screws tightening into metal reinforced holes, they hold on very tightly to the frame.
Banner stands are available in other shapes as well. The metal base could be in the shape of U for maximum base area for stability. The display banner stands could be in the shape of Y too for smaller banners. Banner stands could support mini banners measuring 10 to 15 feet on either side. Even a standard banner stand can have levels of heights for multi utility. Similarly as the size of the banner grows it becomes heavier. So some stands have bases whose weights can be altered by filling the hollow tubes with a liquid or adding extra weight at the bottom. The heavier the base, more stable is the stand. The advantage of filling it with liquid or having detachable weights is that, after the event, these can be removed and the stand becomes light assisting in portability. Thus we see that banner stands differ in the material used for the frame and the base and the shape of the frame and the base.
